GPRS is a global packet radio service. It is a more advanced, faster and more affordable way to get Internet content on your mobile phone.

2.What is WAP?
WAP is a wireless application protocol,this enables one to browse www pages on his phone,however one cant use his phone as a modem to connect to their PC,Note that note all wap capable phone scan access WEB.

3.What is WEB?
Here subcribers can access www page son their phones and even browse deeper into sites,With web one can use his phone as a modem to a pc.

4.What is MMS?
MMS is a multi media message,here a subscriber can send or receive video and audio data files in a message format,Almost all gprs phones can support MMS.

5.Can i send SMS over GPRS?
Gprs has got 3 different classes over Gsm
Class A
Class A mobile phones can be connected to both GPRS and GSM services simultaneously.
Class B
Class B mobile phones can be attached to both GPRS and GSM services, using one service at a time. Class B enables making or receiving a voice call, or sending/receiving an SMS during a GPRS connection. During voice calls or SMS, GPRS services are suspended and then resumed automatically after the call or SMS session has ended.
Class C
Class C mobile phones are attached to either GPRS or GSM voice service. You need to switch manually between services.

7.What are the charges like?

For WAP per content sent 300/,and wap surfing is 2.0/ tax inclusive
For MMS per content sent 300/ tax inclusive.

8.Will i be charged for both incoming and outgoing data?

9.If i take long downloading information, will it increase the cost ?

11.What is EDGE?
EDGE (Enhanced Data GSM Environment) is a faster version the Global System for Mobile wireless service designed to deliver data at rates up to 384 Kbps and enable the delivery of multimedia and other broadband applications to mobile phone and computer users.


GPRS TERMINOLOGY

1.GPRS: The General Packet Radio Service (GPRS)
is a nonvoice value added service that allows information to be sent and received across a mobile telephone network.

2. WAP: Short for the Wireless Application Protocol,
a secure specification that allows users to access information instantly via handheld devices such as mobile phones, pagers, two-way radios, smart phones and communicators.

3.WEB:
Subscribers can visit www pages on their phones or PDAS and can use them as modems to connect to their PCs to the internet and browse pages.

4.MMS:Multi Media Messageing Service,
This is where by you can send and receive messages in form of audio, video and data files.

5.APN:Access Point Name.
This is a name for an access for GPRS e.g UTWAP

6.DNS:Domain Name System.
This translates Domain names(computer host names)to the IP address

7.IP Address:Internet Protocol Address,

is a computer address.Different devices like phones computers fax machine shave IP address,one can also get information using IP addresses.e.g 10.76.101.51(for utwap)

8.USERNAME:This is a description of one account e.g utl050310

9.PASSWORD: password is a form of secret authentication data that is used to control access to a resource.

10.HOMEPAGE OR URL: Main web page of a website of a group, company, organization, when surfing on your phone. 11.BROWSER: In the mobile phones, built-in software that allows the user to access special resources (sites). The browsers can support different transfer protocols - WAP, i-mode, HTTP(web).
