Recharge and balance inquiry FAQs

1. What changes are being made?

We are changing the codes used by customers to load airtime and check their airtime balance. This change affects both prepaid mobile and fixed lines (GSM fixed phones).

4. When are the changes effective?

The changes are effective Monday 24th November 2014.

 

5.  Why were the changes made?

The changes were made as a requirement by the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) to align the airtime load and balance inquiry procedures across all telecom operators in Uganda.

 

6.  What happens if I try using the old codes?

The old codes will not work. Any customer that tries to use the old codes will receive a prompt informing them of the new code & procedure.
