M-Sente

Uganda Telecom M-Sente is a mobile wallet for a subscriber that offers a fast, secure and painless method for money transfer and bill payment.
The Service is Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) based and the code for M-Sente users is *500#. This code will enable you access the service menu on your mobile phone.M-Sente allows users to do the following directly over their mobile phone:

  • Deposit funds
  • Transfer funds
  • Withdraw funds
  • Buy airtime and
  • Pay bills directly

M-Sente is available in all major towns including all UTL service centers and other participating locations.
Anyone can become an M-Sente subscriber. To register, you will need the following:

  • A UTL Sim card
  • Original identification – including Driver’s License, Passport, Military ID, Company ID, Voter’s card or LC Certificate
