About utl telecel · Utl telecel, is the mobile telecommunications division (business unit) of uganda telecom. The company is an affiliate of Telecel, an international company whose head offices are in Geneva and is widely a Pan African mobile network spanning 15 countries. The presence of Telecel in 15 African countries makes it the largest mobile telecommunications network in Africa. Among it's shareholding are Telecel the biggest shareholder from Switzerland; Orascom from Egypt and Detecon from Germany. The three private companies own 51% shares, while the rest (49%) is owned by the government of Uganda. Telecel operates in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Benin, Gabon, Niger, Central African Republic, Congo, Togo, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire  Products & Services Utl telecel is basically a mobile telecommunication services company, offering mango as the prepaid service and Telecel as the postpaid service. Mango and telecel are the company's main brands.
