Edirisa Nyanzi, a tipper driver in Mpererwe and residing in Kyanja, Gayaza is the winner of the third Toyota Hilux pickup in the ongoing Extending your Festive Spirit promotion.

Nyanzi won the pickup in the draw held on 25^th January in Mbarara. Staff of uganda telecom tried reaching Nyanzi for over an hour and his phone was constantly busy. When he was finally contacted, Nyanzi could not hide his delight for having won.

A visibly elated Nyanzi immediately started his tipper and drove from Kampala to Mbarara accompanied by his wife and two brothers. Mr. Levi Nyakundi, Marketing Manager, uganda telecom handed Nyanzi his keys the next morning.

The 800 million shillings promotion is geared to reward loyal uganda telecom prepaid mobile customers. In the promotion, customers will extend their talk with bonus airtime. Every 2,000/- used rewards the customer with an immediate 400/- bonus airtime and a chance to enter into the draw to win the pick ups.

In addition, every customer who buys a simcard, a katikitiki mobile or a Nokia 1112 from uganda telecom will also be automatically entered into the draw. The draws are scheduled to be held fortnightly.

During the promotional period, EVERY time a customer tops-up any amount of airtime onto their phone, they stand the chance of having their airtime DOUBLED automatically.

The promotion started on December 5^th 2007 and two other lucky customers have taken home pickups.

Abdul Kabuye, an accountant with Kaki Investments won the first pickup on December 22^nd at a grand draw held at Nakivubo Stadium

John Bahati, a tailor on Zai Plaza on Luwum Street was lucky in Jinja on 11^th January 2008.

The draw for the fourth pick up will be held on 15^th February 2008.
