On Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14 February 2008, uganda telecom held a promo dubbed Extending Your Love.

Every customer who purchased a katikitiki at the retail price of 45,000/=, was rewarded with one free phone. The first batch of 1,000 phones was sold out within  the first three hours of the promo on day one. Uganda telecom then tripled the number of phones on promotion in a bid to satisfy our major claim of providing affordable communication access to all Ugandans.

The phones were only available at Rwenzori Courts and on the second day of the promo, there was a mad rush to purchase the phones. Uganda telecom customers started lining up before 6:00am to get a chance to extend their love to their partners, families and friends through the uganda telecom Katikitiki. By end of the morning, the phones had run out and uganda telecom was 10,000 subscribers closer to the target of 2 million subscribers by end of 2008.
