Uganda telecom has today launched a multi-million Euro internet service based on 3G technology. This new 3G Mobile Broadband internet was launched at uganda telecom Headquarters on Rwenzori Courts on 25th June 2008.
At the launch, the uganda telecom Chief Commercial Officer, Hans Paulsen made the very first commercial super fast wireless internet connection in Uganda.
This is the first 3G Broadband service in Uganda and one of the first in the East Africa region. Uganda Telecom will enhance its service offerings with super fast mobile broadband data services allowing more Ugandans to access the internet on the move. This service will enable Uganda Telecom to better meet the needs of both existing customers and new customers who may want to access these novelle services.
Uganda Telecom 3G Mobile Broadband is convenient to use in that it is a highly mobile facility. The 3G Mobile Broadband modem is plug and play therefore easy to use as it requires no installation.
“Our 3G Broadband will provide more convenient internet access to people throughout the country,” said Hans Paulsen, Chief Commercial Officer, Uganda Telecom. “With Uganda Telecom 3G Mobile Broadband, customers will enjoy unlimited internet access at any time, any place for an affordable monthly flat fee”
This new development cements Uganda on the list of forward-looking countries in Africa investing in new solutions to enhance the communications infrastructure serving people in the country and in particular in the rural areas, where there is a critical need for internet connectivity. This new innovation will enable uganda telecom to offer world-class services to their customers.
3G Broadband can be purchased in selected uganda telecom service centres in Kampala, Jinja and Entebbe.
