
uganda telecom sponsored the Kirk Franklin Stomp Live tour in Uganda in May 2008.
The world renown Gospel musician played at two concerts - a VIP show at the Kampala Serena Conference Centre on May 22nd and a Family Concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval on 24th May. Part of the proceeds to the VIP show were pledged to the African Children’s Choir.
During the VIP concert, a Kirk Franklin autographed painting was auctioned and bought off by Engineer Abdulbaset Elazzabi, uganda telecom MD at USD 15,000$ (24 Million Uganda Shillings).
A check was handed over to Mark Williams, Principal of the ACC school by Hans Paulsen, uganda telecom Chief Commercial Officer on Monday 16th June 2008.
Ambassadors of Hope is the parent organization of the African Children’s Choir in Uganda and are dedicated to the survival, education and well being of Africa’s innocent and abandoned children.
African Children’s Choir was formed to raise awareness of the need of destitute and orphaned children in Africa and to raise funds for continued development and support of relief and development programs. The choir is composed of children between seven and twelve years of age who come from three countries in East Africa - Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
