24th March, 2020 – The Covid 19 Pandemic has reminded us that we are interconnected beings; connected to other people, to the air we breathe and to the universe and thus – severing these interconnections means death for all beings. We are reminded of the fragility of life.

Today, we face an unprecedented situation and we are operating in uncharted waters. Our families, our communities, our children’s stories have changed and our way of life will never be the same. However, human dignity must remain at the very centre of everything that we do.

At Uganda Telecom, we are focused on the health and safety of our people, families, communities and the dignity and protection of privacy of those affected.

We have asked our teams to work from home without compromising on the quality of service, availability and security. We are committed to providing connectivity to communities, businesses and essential services like banks, healthcare, and Government services.

These are the actions that we have taken to keep you connected and safe;

  • Our staff have been given the necessary access credentials to manage the network and deliver auxiliary services remotely. As such, we shall ensure that no network interruptions shall go unattended.
  • We are managing our staffing levels to provide help to Customers while actively supporting social distancing to limit exposure. Shifts and flexible work periods have been implemented.
  • Our network is fully operational and we have adequate capacity to meet your needs. We have taken extra steps to ensure that our network continues to perform and meet increased demand.
  • Our Network Operations Center (NOC) continues to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to monitor our network performance to mitigate service degradation, and our technical workforce is on call to rapidly respond.
  • You can still connect to us remotely via E-mail, Telephone, Digital platforms, the Call center and the NOC, where our Teams will be on standby to offer assistance.
  • Our staff are equipped with the necessary safety gear to follow all procedures for their protection and yours – our Customers.

We promote and defend the right to internet and are ensuring to deliver the fastest internet speeds. We have committed teams across Uganda Telecom that are here for you.

To Humanity and Dignity.
For God and My Country.
